Norwegian firm Bulandet Miljofisk won a NOK 23 million (€2.2 million/$2.5 million) grant from the federal development group Innovation Norway to develop a system for land-based aquaculture using seawater.

Unlike most recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) projects in the market, the Bulandet system will pump seawater into tanks with only a small degree of recirculation, in order to save energy consumption, Research and Development Head Asbjorn Dyrkorn Loland told IntraFish's sister publication Tekfisk.
