Salmon farming giant Mowi reported an escape in early August from a site in the Trondelag region of Norway.

The escape, of around 4,800 2.4-kilo fish, was the result of a three-meter-long tear in a net, according to the Norwegian Fisheries Directorate, which reported the escape Thursday.

Only one salmon was recovered.

Mowi was this week named the most sustainable protein producer among other global meat, dairy and fish producers, according to the Coller FAIR Protein Index.
