Nearly two dozen new CEOs were appointed by global seafood companies and organizations, while half as many announced their departures in little more than the first seven months of this year, analysis of IntraFish reporting shows.
Eleven CEOs left their positions out of the 101 personnel move stories between Jan. 1 to Aug. 14.
A month later Mowi, the world's largest salmon producer installed Atle Kvist as the new managing director of its feed division.
In March former Skretting Managing Director Steven Rafferty was appointed managing director of Cermaq Chile.
Among the biggest names moving on was Bill Showalter at Grimsby-based Young's Seafood who was replaced last month following Young's recent acquisition by CapVest-owned Karro Food Group.
Other notable departures included Nicos Nicolaides in July as CEO of troubled aquaculture firm Nova Austral, amid a scandal over the misreporting of salmon mortalities.
Also last month, Regal Springs Group CEO Achim Eichenlaub announced he will be stepping down at the end of the year while Stavis Seafoods CEO Chuck Marble left the Boston-based processor and distributor, just over a year into the new role, IntraFish reported in June.
In the wider picture of personnel moves March saw the largest number (19) with perhaps unsurprisingly May seeing only seven given its proximity to the world's largest seafood trade fair in Brussels, the event into which companies and their staff put their biggest effort.
Over the first 14 days of Aug. 10 personnel moves were unveiled, meaning it may run those months close.
March 4 and April 8 jointly saw the highest number of personnel moves announced in a single day so far this year.
