The acquisition by the Bolton Group of some of the tuna assets of US seafood giant Tri Marine provides a slight shake-up to the stagnant M&A market in the sector, but will not change the big picture, Jose Antonio Zarzalejos, partner at PwC, told IntraFish.

Bolton, with sales of €1 billion ($1.1 billion) in 2018, is one of the largest food conglomerates in Europe, and one of the most recognized tuna groups in the world -- parent of strong brands in different markets, including Rio Mare and Isabel.
