Einar Wathne, newly appointed head of seafood at feed giant Cargill, is proud of the Global Salmon Initiative's legacy.
One of the founding members as then CEO of Cermaq-owned Ewos, Wathne recounts the days that GSI began.
"Several leaders in the sector saw there were global questions that individual companies were struggling to resolve, particularly in the areas of reputation, long term sustainability and factors limiting growth of the sector," he said.
And so GSI was born.
