Cooke Aquaculture is aiming to tie up the acquisition of Seajoy (Deli) Group, which farms shrimp in Ecuador, Honduras and Nicaragua.
"There are lot hurdles to get over until the deal is closed but it is in the process," a source familiar with the deal told IntraFish.
Details of the transaction are currently unclear.
Last year Seajoy (Deli) Group and Grupo Granjas Marinas, two of Honduras’ largest shrimp producers, reached an agreement to collaborate in piloting the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s (GAA) draft Biosecurity Area Management Standard.
