The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) buyer’s mission to Dutch Harbor later this month will be the first of its kind for a reason other than seafood: the buyers are all women.

At the end of January, ASMI will host seven female buyers and marketing managers from six international companies.

The roster of companies represented includes Gelazur, Zamek -Meinhardt Seafood-Service, Viciunai, Nueva Pescanova, Young’s Seafood and Soguima.

“This wouldn't happen by chance,” Hannah Lindoff, international marketing program director at ASMI, told IntraFish.
