US-based AquaBounty made history when its AquAdvantage salmon became the first genetically modified animal approved to enter the food chain in 2015. In the second quarter of 2017 small volumes of that salmon hit the shelves in Canada, with controversy surrounding the company's decision to leave it unlabeled and the retailers unnamed.

Now, with the focus of twenty years' of work under its belt, CEO Ron Stotish tells IntraFish about the work ahead, with a major focus on ramping up production, both domestically and in new markets.
