The recent run of price increases for fresh Norwegian farmed salmon was expected to end abruptly today, according to several market sources, with strong supplies and carryover inventory.

One exporter said that while there had been no agreements struck as of mid-day Friday, supplies were strong, especially for larger fish, which fetch a more premium price.

The exporter reported prices of between NOK 70-74 (€6.80-€7.19/$7.11-$7.52) for fish between three and six kilos on Friday, a significant decrease from last week.
