Canadian seafood processor Clark's Harbour Seafood will shortly open a new CAD15 million (€10.7 million/$11.2 million) lobster processing plant boosting its capacity on Cape Sable Island in Nova Scotia, according to CBC.

The plant lifts the company's total investment on Cape Sable Island to more than CAD 45 million (€32 million/$33.5 million).

Clark's Harbour, focused mainly on the Chinese market, already has three lobster pounds in the area, including the large Atlantic ChiCan holding site in Newellton.

The new Clark's Harbour plant will be able to processing up to four million pounds of cooked lobster a year.

China's market for Canada's live lobster has been estimated at more than CAD $450 million, according to CBC.
