Thai seafood giant Thai Union was put on notice from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this year for serious violations of seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations.

The warning came following an assessment of Thai Union's seafood processing facility in Samut Sakhon, just outside of Bangkok in January.

The inspection was conducted remotely due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

During the remote assessment, the FDA found multiple serious violations of HACCP regulations.
