Frode Arntsen didn't have much time to prepare to take over as the CEO of Norway's second-largest salmon farming company.

The new CEO of SalMar took over the role this week following the brief tenure of Linda Litlekalsoy Aase, who took on the role from founder Gustav Witzoe earlier this year, but held the job for only six months.

Arntsen, 52, has a long history in salmon farming, but the announcement of Aase's departure came quickly, giving him little time to prepare for the transition and all the upheaval that follows a CEO departing.
