BASF Venture Capital is joining with Aqua-Spark, the Netherlands-based investment fund focused on sustainable aquaculture to invest in red seaweed producer Sea6 Energy.

Under the investment, Bangalore, India-based Sea6 Energy will complete its Series B transaction of INR 1402 million ($18.5 million) in total.

Last year Aqua-Spark announced it was investing $9 million (€8.8 million) in Sea6 Energy's Series B funding round.

Other existing investors include Tata Capital Innovations Fund.
