Outgoing UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he will urge ministerial colleagues to meet and look into the impact of a 35 percent tariff on the seafood processing industry in the industry hub of Grimsby and neighboring Cleethorpes.

On Wednesday, Johnson replied to a question from Cleethorpes member of Parliament Martin Vickers, who said there is "considerable concern" from industry leaders in the sector following the imposition of the tariff overnight.

"Though they recognize it is important to maintain sanctions against Russia this is causing great concern," Vickers said.
