Norwegian land-based salmon producer Salmon Evolution has successfully completed its second smolt release at its Indre Haroy facility, comprising about 230,000 smolt with an average weight of 125 grams.

The operation went according to plan with "no negative indicators identified," the company said in an announcement on Wednesday.

The second batch of smolt was significantly "upsized" and now also includes the volumes originally intended for release in August, said the group.

The land-based salmon producer announced last month that it is planning to expand into North America and raise its production capacity target to 100,000 metric tons by 2032.
