Peter Pan Seafoods has increased its base price for Bristol Bay sockeye, after posting a price last week that tracked slightly below last year's.
Peter Pan CEO Rodger May confirmed with IntraFish Tuesday the company has increased the base price it pays fishermen by 15 percent to $1.15 (€1.09) per pound from last week.
Canfisco-owned North Pacific Seafoods is also offering $1.15 to fishermen, sources confirmed to IntraFish.
"As a testimonial to our belief in a valued partnership with the Bristol Bay fishing fleet, we pushed our starting price to $1.15,"
