New Zealand seafood heavyweight Sanford saw a solid recovery in earnings in the first half of its 2022 financial year, although workforce challenges still weigh heavily, especially in its processing division.

The company, which has arms in both fisheries and salmon farming, achieved a 26 percent recovery in its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization to NZD 32.5 million (€19.6 million/$20.6 million) in the six months ending March 31.

This number was given a step up by a 16 percent revenue increase to NZD 271 million (€163.5
