Salmon producer Grieg Seafood produced its best ever first quarter this year, with good performance across all production regions and incredibly high prices sending earnings skyrocketing.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) surged to more than six times the amount they were in the first quarter of 2021, to NOK 548 million (€53.5 million/$55.7 million). The increase is also 52 percent up on the company's first quarter of 2019, before the pandemic dragged Grieg's results into two years of doldrums.
