Faced with potential fallout from Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, the UK fish and chip industry is up against the worst crisis in its 160-year history, amid soaring prices for a seemingly endless list of raw materials and inputs.

The industry is still waiting to see what happens regarding a potential ban on Russian seafood, but should one be implemented, Andrew Crook, president of the National Fish Fryers Federation (NFFF), warns that the industry's heavy reliance on Russian-caught fish will lead to huge challenges for the sector.
