High Liner Foods, one of the North America's largest seafood suppliers, is the latest major company to pull out from exhibiting at Seafood Expo North America (SENA) in mid-March.

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia-based High Liner made the decision after tracking the spread of the omicron COVID-19 variant, CEO Rod Hepponstall said.

"The show is an important part of the industry, and a great place to meet customers, suppliers and the financial community, but we've chosen to prioritize the safety of our employees and their loved ones' health at this time," Hepponstall told IntraFish.
