Spiraling costs, red tape: UK seafood processors are in for a tough year

UK seafood processors face a year of sharply rising costs, reduced margins and increased red tape in 2022.

While the peak Christmas period may have gone better than hoped given that the food industry was stretched to the limit, the next 12 months are likely to be less than smooth sailing, according to Andrew Kuyk, director general of the UK Seafood Industry Alliance, which represents many of the UK's largest processors.
