Nutreco-backed land-based salmon farmer Nordic Aqua Group is close to completing construction of its first hatchery, a long-awaited milestone in the group's journey to growing salmon on land in China.
The hatchery, a key first step toward full growout production of salmon to market size, is expected to be finished by February.

Construction was slightly delayed due to a typhoon and heavy rain in August, but the project is now on track, Ragnar Joensen, chairman of the board, said during a webcast Thursday.
