A Chilean marine engineering firm's "roving" aquaculture system has won a key approval from marine classification society Registro Italiano Navale (RINA).

Ocean Ark Tech's 64-meter wide, 170-meter long "superyacht" can produce up to 3,900 metric tons of fish per year.

RINA, with 200 offices in 70 countries, is a member of key international organizations and considered an important contributor to the development of new legislative standards.

Ocean Ark's roaming fish farm, with 450 metric tons of storage and room for six to 20 crew, does not need to be anchored to a particular area and can move autonomously.
