Chilean salmon producer Camanchaca harvested 9,508 metric tons of Atlantic salmon in the third quarter, the company said in a trading update on Thursday.

The average fish weight came in 4.22 kilograms, on a whole fish equivalent (WFE) basis.

The third quarter harvest was down 29 percent from the 13,403 metric tons harvested in the same period last year.

In the opening quarter of the year, Camanchaca harvested 9,163 metric tons, adding a disappointing 6,425 metric tons in the second quarter after bearing the brunt of low oxygen levels in water and algal blooms that impacted its farms earlier this year.
