French supermarket retailer Leclerc is recalling a batch of smoked salmon slices after traces of listeria contamination were detected.

The salmon is sold under the company's private brand, according to the French government website Rappel Conso.

Products were on sale at the retailer's Saint-Doulchard branch in the central Loire region of the country.

Consumers are urged not to eat products with a Oct. 18 consumption date and to return them to stores for a refund.
