OBI Seafoods, a salmon and groundfish processing group jointly owned by Canadian giant Cooke and Alaska community development quota group Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation (BBEDC), has denied allegations from workers who have filed a class action lawsuit against the Alaska seafood company, "seeking payment of damages resulting from the delay in wage payments" during periods of quarantine.

Lawyers for OBI Seafoods said the former employee plaintiffs’ claims against them "are frivolous," in a response filed with Washington State's King County Superior Court in August.
