While not exactly a household name outside of South America, Sao Paulo, Brazil-based JBS is one of the most important meat processing groups in the world, and as of last week, a salmon farmer.
Though rankings vary, JBS claims to be the world's largest meat processor, which includes a second-place showing in pork production and a significant supplier of poultry and lamb.
