French fine foods supplier moves deeper into premium smoked salmon with acquisition

French fine foods supplier Les Toques Blanches du Monde said it has acquired salmon smoker Unis Fish Food (UFF) with the aim of bolstering its premium lines.

Geographic proximity between the two companies was a major draw, with UFF's Villefranche-sur-Saone production site only 30 minutes drive away from Lyon in eastern France, Les Toques Blanches du Monde Finance Director Tan Hieu Ha told IntraFish.

"We work with premium lines, especially premium salmon so it was important for us," Ha said.
