There are certain headlines you know will pull in the reads.

On IntraFish the use of the expression "land-based" or anything implying a shift in salmon prices will generally take you near the top of the most read. There is also the use of more generic words like "goldmine," "death" and "incest" – predictable ways for news outlets to grab a reader’s attention.

And then, of course, there is Pamela Anderson.

There she was, when I sat down to my laptop yesterday morning, polluting our beautiful list of original IntraFish content on our Most Read stories, elevating a fairly standard press release to sit atop the site, bathed in click bait glory.

It had been with a sigh just the day before that I had posted that release and reluctantly put her name in the headline, but it gave me comfort to think it was a derogatory response to her "campaign" that brought her to sit in the headline box.
