Russian seafood imports plummeted by more than a third in the first six months of the year, but exports continued to surge, according to the latest data from Russian federal statistics service Rosstat.

Through June, Russia imported 206,100 metric tons of seafood, down 35 percent compared with this time last year. The value of the country’s seafood imports fell 31 percent to $814.5 million (€801.3 million).
