Norwegian seafood exports fell 4 percent to 200,600 metric tons in January, but the value increased 13 percent to a total of NOK 8.6 billion (€888.9 million/$1 billion) -- setting another monthly record.

Salmon exports amounted to 86,000 metric tons, worth a total NOK 5.7 billion (€589.2 million/$672.5 million), a 2 percent increase in volume and 14 percent increase in value compared with January last year.

The average price for fresh whole salmon in January was NOK 62.93 (€6.50/$7.40) per kg compared with NOK 56.99
