The second trout product from certified aquaculture with the GlobalGAP GGN eco-label is now available under the Almare brand for Aldi Süd shoppers in "certain regions" in Germany.

Producer EFD Excelsior gained the listing in December and said the new label is a way of providing a safe and easy orientation for retailers and consumers when purchasing fish from aquaculture.

“Our customers expect us to provide safe products from responsible aquaculture," said Marcin Wnuk, trade director at Excelsios.

"This today also includes the certification according to a reliable standard, which retailers and consumers trust GlobalGAP, as an established B2B standard, and the new GGN consumer label combine both demands in a very good way," he said.
