Although it didn't identify the specific buyer or buyers, GM salmon producer AquaBounty last week dropped another clue as to where it is selling its products.

In an interview with the CBC, AquaBounty CEO Ron Stotish said the buyers of 4.5 metric tons of the company's fish this year are using it in high-end sashimi items.

The salmon was sold in Canada, where there is no requirement that the fish to be labeled as genetically engineered.
