The “scallop wars” in the English Channel seemed to be coming to an end Monday night as UK and French fishermen were said to have reached a new agreement, reports The Guardian.

Vessels from the two nations clashed over the summer in a dispute about access to fishing grounds in the Baie de Seine, north of Normandy.

Both governments reached an agreement in early September but talks eventually broke down, and the dispute over fishing rights continued.

Now it has been announced that another agreement has been reached.
