This week's sockeye salmon harvests in Bristol Bay's Nushagak River district set single-day records, with nearly 1.8 million fish caught on June 30 and over 1.8 million fish caught July 1.

Bristol Bay's total sockeye harvest stood at around 9 million fish as of July 1, with harvests from the Nushagak accounting for 61 percent of that total. The fish caught so far make up around 25 percent of the 36.4 million fish forecasted to be harvested in the Bay this season.
