Russian pollock producers could be facing a dramatic decline in their overall harvest, with some of the country's leading fisheries researchers projecting a cut of as much as 50 percent in the total allowable catch (TAC) by 2025.

According to the Pacific Fisheries Research Center (TINRO) estimates, a decline in biomass and an increase in fishing fleet capacity could lead to a halving of the total allowable catch (TAC) for pollock in the next five years.
