Peruvian anchovy vessels harvested 2.33 million metric tons, or 96.7 percent of their 2.41 million metric tons quota by July 21 in north central waters, the country's Production Ministry (Produce) reported.

The announcement comes as the first season in north central waters draws to a close.

This season's catch will be at least 17.4 percent higher than the amount harvested in the same season in 2019, the ministry said.
