The International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) reported another year of declining stocks in most areas of the coast.

The commission held its interim meeting Tuesday and Wednesday in Seattle, where it reported its annual survey showed the numbers of halibut coastwide dropped by six percent from year before, KFSK reports.

The meetings revealed fish weight fell by 19 percent from the previous year, and that stocks will likely continue to decrease due to low recruitment.
