The North Pacific Fishery Management Council on Friday approved a Total Allowable Catch (TAC) for eastern Bering Sea pollock of 1.397 million metric tons, up 2.4 percent over the 1.364 million metric ton quota this year.

The council approved a TAC for Bering Sea Pacific cod of 166,475 metric tons, down from 188,136 metric tons last year. The Aleutian Island Pacific cod TAC was set at 14,214 metric tons, down slightly from the 15,695 TAC this season.

In the Gulf of Alaska, the Alaska pollock quota was set at 141,227 metric tons, down from 166,228 metric tons.
