Spain introduces new regulations for Atlantic bluefin tuna fishing
The improvements include more flexible fishing seasons.
Spain's Official National Journal published a decree introducing a new regulations on Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean bluefin tuna fishing, approved last week, reports Efe.
Among the adopted measures, the new regulatory framework includes more flexibility of fishing seasons and eliminates restrictions to the inclusion of artisanal vessels into annual fishing plans, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food.
The new regulation includes measures from the fisheries management plan approved by the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) in Dubrovnik in 2018.
