Plans viewed by Russian and Chinese leaders.
The Russian Fishery Company presented its investment projects for the construction of super trawlers, a coastal Russian pollock factory and crab catching vessels to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping this week at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Russian Fishery plans to build seven super trawlers, six of which will be built under a program of investment in quotas.
Large-capacity trawler-processors are designed to catch more than 50,000 metric tons a year.
Each vessel will be equipped with a modern factory for processing catches into value-added products, mainly pollock fillet and surimi.
Daily production capacity runs to 85 tons of pollоck fillet, 50 tons of minced pollоck, 80 tons of surimi and 60 tons of herring.
The company will invest about $800 million (€683.6 million) into construction of the trawlers. Commissioning of the vessels is scheduled between 2020 ad 2023.

The company plans to raise capacity at the factory by about 20 percent after 2021. Total investment in the construction of the first stage runs to $15 million (€12.8 million).
Initially, main products will be pollock fillet and mince. Under a second phase plan Russian Fishery said it will expand to produce "ready to cook" and "ready to eat" products.
Once the factory is commissioned, Russian Fishery will receive additional fishing quotas of 170,000 metric tons of pollock and herring.
The company also plans to build up to 10 purpose built crabbers. Until now crab vessels have been converted from other types of boats.
