UK-based whitefish processor Thistle Seafoods reported an "extremely challenging year" for earnings in 2017 compared with the year earlier due to the impact of Brexit uncertainty and escalations in raw material costs.
The company narrowed its loss before tax in 2017 to £3.6 million (€4.1 million/$4.8 million), up 24 percent from the nearly £4.5 million (€5.1 million/$5.9 million) loss reported in 2016.
Turnover in 2017 also increased, by 13 percent, to £89.6 million (€101 million/$118.9 million), up from £79.3 million (€89.4
