Two of aquaculture biotechnology company Benchmark's board members increased their shares in the company on Sept. 11 and 13.

Non-Executive Director Yngve Myhre, who also serves as chairman of the board of Chilean salmon farmer Nova Austral, bought an aggregated total of 225,000 shares worth £135,240 (€152,171/$168,466) on Sept. 11 and 13.

Myhre increased his stake in the company to 0.07 percent through this purchase and now has 400,000 shares in the company in total.

Executive Chairman Peter George purchased 1 million ordinary shares at a price of £0.47 (€0.52/$0.58) each, worth a total of £470,000 (€528,839/$585,470).

The chairman's shares now represent 0.18 percent of the company's issued share capital.

Last month, Malcolm Pye, Benchmark founder and CEO, announced he would be stepping down to allow the company to appoint a new CEO "to drive the next phase of Benchmark's growth and development."

The move followed a lowering of Benchmark's full-year profit expectations, which Pye told IntraFish at the time was down to poor planning and a subsequent share price slump.

It also came just over a month after the announcement from CFO Mark Plampin that he would also be leaving his role.
