Atlantic Sapphire board member Runar Vatne, one of Norway's 400 richest people, on Tuesday bought shares in the company worth NOK 32 million (€2.9 million/$3.3 million).
Through his companies Vatne now holds 5.7 percent of the company's outstanding shares and voting rights.
Atlantic Sapphire saw $125 million (€109 million) wiped off its share price just a week after losing $150 million (€132 million) following the announcement of the loss of 227,000 fish through a mass mortality event at its Denmark operations.
Board member Andre Skarbo also bought shares worth NOK 2 million (€184,530/$209,687), moving his total stake in the company up to 1 percent.
Atlantic Sapphire shares had edged up 0.2 percent from Monday's close of trading to NOK 93.20 (€8.58/$9.74) at the time of writing.
