Phillipines tuna giant Century Pacific Food posted a 9 percent increase in earnings in the second quarter of the year driven by growth in branded-business revenues despite high raw material costs, reports Business World.

In a regulatory filing, the listed canned goods manufacturer said its net profit reached PHP 838.9 million (€13.6 million/$15.8 million) in the second quarter, up from the PHP 767.5 million (€12.4 million/$14.4 million) it posted in the same period a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter went up by 19 percent, to PHP 10.2
