Australian investment heavyweight Tattarang Agrifood has taken a 7.33 percent stake in salmon farmer Huon Aquaculture for AUD 19.9 million (€12.5 million/$14.9 million).

The private investment group snapped up just more than 8 million shares on June 17.

At the end of last year, Tattarang told IntraFish it had its eyes on the aquaculture sector, after launching a new seafood brand onto the global stage in the summer.

That was the company’s first investment into the sector, adding a whole new division to its already sprawling portfolio.
