Beijing authorities are calling on Chinese importers to avoid frozen food coming from countries suffering severe COVID-19 outbreaks after reports that imported seafood and its packaging tested positive for the virus.

"All relevant enterprises should strengthen prevention and control from overseas sources, take the initiative to avoid importing cold-chain foods from areas with severe epidemics, and actively take effective measures to make various alternative plans for imported foods," read the notice from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce.
