US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross testified before Congress Tuesday that he believes there are some inappropriate aquaculture practices in foreign countries that contributes to the US trade imbalance in seafood.

Ross told a House Appropriations subcommittee as part of a discussion on the fiscal year 2019 Commerce budget the United States should be careful when importing seafood from countries that don't have the same aquaculture standards as the United States.
