Norwegian pelagic giant Pelagia, has completed a deal to take full ownership of Hordafor, a processor of marine byproducts for the feed industry.

Pelagia -- itself a joint venture between Austevoll Seafood and Kvefi -- already owned 50 percent of Hordafor, but on July 1 was given the go ahead from the Norwegian competition authorities to acquire the remaining 50 percent from Partrederiet Karolos and one smaller shareholder.

"There are several reasons why Pelagia and Hordafor are a good match," said Egil Magne Haugstad, CEO of Pelagia.
