Norwegian company Hav Line AS, the developer of a new wellboat concept for the salmon industry, signed a contract with Norwegian Corvus Energy for the supply of its Orca Energy storage systems.

The Wartsila-designed Hav Line vessel will be the world’s first hybrid wellboat combining both slaughtering and transport of the fish, and is expected to be delivered from Spanish shipyard Balenciaga in 2018.

Jon Hindar, former CEO of Norwegian salmon farmer Cermaq, is currently CEO of Hav Line.

Willie Wagen, global VP of sales and marketing of Corvus Energy, said the company is proud to have been selected by Wartsila for the supply of energy systems.
